Minna Gilligan

About Minna

Minna Gilligan is an artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (First Class Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012.

Gilligan works primarily with painting, drawing and collage. Her practice speaks largely of fleeting, personal encounters with the past and present, and manifests in tumultuous reconciliation of both. The works are eerie playgrounds of colour, usually inhabited by lone protagonists trapped in states of longing, sadness or exhalation.

While exhibiting widely in exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally, Gilligan also illustrate for Tavi Gevinson’s online magazine ROOKIE and have worked for clients such as  Urban Outfitters, Nasty Gal and Asos. She is a member of Petra Collins’ all female artist collective The Ardorous.

Minna Gilligan is represented by Daine Singer Gallery in Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
